Discussion of a resolution to support the ongoing effort to design and construct a new Gage County Detention Center will be one of the highlights of the next Gage County Board of Supervisors meeting scheduled for 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The County Board is expected to approve or disapprove the resolution, which comes as a steering committee has been considering plans for a new jail.
In a related matter, the supervisors will also approve or disapprove an agreement with Advanced Correctional Healthcare for county jail inmate medical services.
In other business:
Eminent domain: Approve/disapprove taking legal action for eminent domain.
Deputy award: Sheriff Millard “Gus” Gustafson is scheduled to present an award to Deputy Dax Brydl.
EMS Committee report: Hear a report from the Emergency Medical Services Committee.
Ambulance contract change: Conduct a public hearing on support and/or opposition to the ambulance contract and then approve/disapprove a 90-day notice for change of ambulance contract.
Tax Increment Financing: Conduct discussion on the amount of tax dollars held in abatement due to Tax Increment Financing.
Lid increase: Approve/disapprove 1 percent increase for the lid on restricted funds.
EPC services agreement: Approve/disapprove agreement for EPC services between Region V Systems and Gage County.
Homestead Heritage Center update: Hear an update on the Homestead National Monument of America Heritage Center from Mark Engler, Homestead National Monument superintendent.
Executive session: Go into executive session to discuss real estate.
