An evening of food, entertainment, games and fireworks are planned on Thursday, July 3, to kick off the holiday weekend in Alexandria.

The evening will begin with supper at the community building from 6 p.m.-7 p.m. The cost will be a freewill donation.

A kids’ obstacle course will be available on the ball field from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. At 7:30 p.m., a Redneck Tractor Pull will be held on Main Street. (The teams will be pulling the tractor, instead of the tractor pulling a sled.)

The firemen will have a water fight on Main Street at 8:15 p.m. Miss Alexandria will be crowned at the ball field at 9 p.m. Jeff Hammer will provide accordion and vocal music at 9:15 p.m.

Fireworks will begin at dark at the ball field.

A raffle to raise money for future community events in Alexandria will be held, with the drawing after the fireworks.
