Grabouski pleads not guilty

A former Jet Racing Inc. employee has pleaded not guilty in Gage County District Court to theft by taking for writing unauthorized company checks to credit card and loan businesses and family members.

Jami L. Grabouski, 49, 1321 S. Fifth St., entered the plea this week to the Class III felony charge for allegedly writing the unauthorized checks between January 2006 and December 2007.

According to court records, more than $57,000 in worthless checks were written on Jet Racing accounts, including 21 to credit card or loan offices and 11 to financial institutions or family members.

A status hearing on the case is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. Sept. 3.
