Lois C. Stipp, 82, of Plymouth, died on Friday morning, June 27, 2008, at the Beatrice Good Samaritan Center. She was born on January 18, 1926, at Griffith, Indiana.
She was married to Arlie E. Stipp on February 10, 1951, at Joliet, Illinois, and they moved to Nebraska in 1965. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 243 of Plymouth. She enjoyed her grandchildren, her cat “Jessica,” sewing, crocheting, crossword puzzles and collecting butterflies.
Survivors include three sons, Carl Minnick and Richard Minnick, both of Joliet, Illinois, and Michael Stipp and wife Teri of Florida; one daughter, Debra Meyer and husband Fred of Plymouth; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Joseph Cleaver of Council, Idaho, and Jerry Cleaver and wife Wilma of Sebastian, Florida; one sister, Helen Spaulding of McCall, Idaho; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, Cyrus Cleaver; mother and stepfather, Caroline Wilming Dyrdahl and Bud Dyrdahl; her husband, Arlie, who died on February 1, 1991; her son, Arlie E. Stipp Jr.; one daughter, Patricia Roos; two grandchildren; and one brother, John Cleaver.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday July 3, 2008, Peace Lutheran Church of rural Plymouth, with Maynard Kellerman, PMA, and Pat Gregory, PMA, officiating. Inurnment of the cremains will be on Thursday at 10 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery of Plymouth. A family prayer service will be held at 10:45 a.m. in the fellowship room of the church on Thursday. There will be no viewing. The body has been cremated. A memorial has been established with the church elders in charge. A register book will be available for signatures at Fox Funeral Home of Plymouth from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and one hour preceding the services at the church on Thursday.
