Larry L. Schuerman, 67, died July 3, 2008, surrounded by family after a battle with renal cancer. Larry was born October 7, 1940, in Plymouth to Bernhard and Mabel (Butt) Schuerman.

Larry graduated from Beatrice High School in 1958. After high school he joined the management of Hesteds, managing stores in Nebraska and Colorado. Larry moved to Dallas, Texas, and worked as a real estate broker. Larry and Maureen Major were married on May 24, 1985. Larry enjoyed gardening, especially taking care of his rose garden, watching the birds in his yard, coming back to Nebraska in the fall to hunt with his sons and going to visit his and Maureen’s children and grandchildren.

Larry is survived by wife, Maureen Schuerman; children, Lyle Schuerman and wife Diana, Jodi Haines and husband Barry, Robert Schuerman Bednar and wife Jayna; stepchildren John Major and fiancee Mary Caka, Kim Barnes and husband Randy, Debbie Major, Michael Major and wife Vicki, Diane Hill, David Major and wife April, and Maureen Major; grandchildren, Elizabeth Schuerman, Justin Schuerman and wife Sagen, Alison Schuerman, Brian Huls and wife Erica, Kyle Haines, Mikayla Haines and Brayden Bednar; step-grandchildren, John Major Jr., Jason Major, Rand Barnes, Jacob Johnson, Gage Johnson, Marin Major, Heather Williams, Britney Hill, Katie Major, Christopher Major; great grandchildren, Hunter Behrens, Cameron East and Ella Huls; brothers, Dale Schuerman and wife Carolyn, Gary Schuerman and wife Bev, sister, Gwen Rahe and husband Darold; many nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents, infant son, David, and brother, Lowell Schuerman.

Funeral is at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 8, at Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home, 6800 S. 14th St., Lincoln. Visitation on Monday from 4 p.m.-8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 4 p.m.-5:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Paul Helmer will officiate. Interment will be at Lincoln Memorial Park. Memorials in lieu of flowers are suggested to the American Cancer Society. Condolences may be left online at lincolnfh.com . Lincoln Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
