DAVID CITY - DeWitt Tri County’s Trojans found the going tough on the road Friday night, falling to David City Aquinas, 42-14, in David City.
The Trojans trailed 42-0 heading into the fourth quarter, but were able to put two late touchdowns on the scoreboard.
With 4:11 left in the game, Tri County’s Jesse Koenig scored on a two-yard run. A two-point conversion pass from Bodie Moeller to B.J. Hasse was successful, making it 42-8.
Just two minutes went off the game clock before the Trojans scored again.
After holding Aquinas three-and-out on their next possession, Tri County forced a punt.
Koenig took the Aquinas kick and returned it 65 yards for a touchdown. The conversion attempt failed leaving the score at 42-14.
For the game, Koenig led Tri County’s rushing attack with 44 yards on nine carries. Moeller was 5-for-12 in passing for 45 yards, while Weston Fanders was the leading receiver with two catches for 18 yards.
