OMAHA - Beatrice’s Lady Orange dropped a three-set road decision to Omaha Gross Thursday night in Omaha.
The Lady Orange lost the match, 25-18, 25-15, 25-15.
“The scored don’t indicate how well and how hard the girls played against that caliber of team with height and ability,” Beatrice coach Melissa Carper said.
Carper said the Lady Orange worked hard defensively in the match and showed the ability to get to the ball.
“There were a lot of long rallies in the match,” Carper said.
Offensively, Carper said Gross’ strength was in its middle and right-side hitters.
Carper said senior Amber Engler played well against Gross, picking up some kills also with making some “excellent” digs.
Kayla Busboom led Beatrice’s offense with seven kills, while Engler had 19 set assists.
Next action for Beatrice will be Tuesday as the Lady Orange hosts Ralston.
