Daily Sun staff reports

A two-vehicle crash near Diller claimed the life of a local woman and left her husband in serious condition Tuesday afternoon.

Nate Lindblad, 24, of Beatrice, had been driving north on South 103rd Road before the crash. He told police Tuesday that he stopped at the stop sign, and then  proceeded after not seeing any cars coming.

Beverly and Neil Brauch were driving east on PWF Road approaching the intersection where Lindblad had stopped, police said.

Lindblad struck the Brauchs’ vehicle, a Ford pickup, with his vehicle, an older Ford pickup.

The Brauch’s vehicle flipped upside-down in a ditch on the north side of PWF Road.

Beverly Brauch, 70, the driver of the vehicle, was killed on impact. Neil Brauch was taken to BryanLGH Medical Center West in Lincoln and was listed in serious condition Wednesday morning.

Lindblad sustained no major injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
