Blue Valley Community Action Partnership Immunization Program in Saline, Seward and Jefferson Counties: Blue Valley Community Action Partnership is now contracted with private insurance companies to offer vaccines to infant, children and adults, and we file the insurance claims for you. Blue Valley Community Action Partnership continues to offer States Vaccine for Children and has expanded to include the Adults Vaccine Program for those who qualify. Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) Distribution Clinic: Fourth Tuesday of every month, 1623 N. Fifth Street, Beatrice. An appointment is suggested. CSFP provides nutritious foods to persons who are age 60 or greater who live in Nebraska and are under the income guidelines. Foods given through CSFP include canned fruits and vegetables, bottled juice, 1% liquid and non-fat dry milk, hot and cold cereals, canned meat, peanut butter, dried beans, cheese, pasta or rice. Distribution clinics are also held in Crete, David City, Fairbury, Hebron, Humboldt, Wilber and York for those living in or near those communities.

National Family History Month Free Programs: 2 p.m. Homestead National Monument of America Education Center. Three interesting programs tied to family history. The first program will cover professional techniques for preserving your family’s photographs and documents, followed by an update on the Reynolds Family archival project. The Reynolds family from Seward County donated a treasure trove of historical letters, pictures and this program will feature park staff and volunteers discussing what they’ve learned so far from this outstanding assortment of items and documents. After that, there will be an update on the Homestead Records Digitization Project, including an overview of what’s in a homesteading case file and what states will be released on the web this October.

Many of the evening activities will be outdoors, so please dress for cool weather. This event is appropriate for all ages. Please leave your costumes at home.
