Taylor McCabe admits that she's an emotional eater. When she's feeling depressed, she fills the void with delicious food.
Unfortunately, she also has something called hypothyroidism. Basically it all boils down her body likes to gain weight, doesn't like to lose it.
"Who knew a little itty bitty thing like a thyroid gland can affect so much in your body," she laughs. "I've been overweight most of my life. Instead of having a slim body, I had curves."
She has one other really good motivator, her young toddler-aged son.
"This isn't about me anymore, it's about my son," she insists. "As easy as it is for me to grab a quick bite for diner, I want to start making healthier choices for myself that can be displayed for him. I want to be around as long as I can for this little guy and by around, I mean not rolling behind him gasping for air.
"This weight doesn't define me, and I'll be damned if I'm told 'you're pretty for a bigger girl' one more time. I'm ready to grab this weight by the rolls and kick them to the curb."
