I made it through another week alive. I wasn’t sure that would be the case during my workout with Bryan on Thursday.

On my typical treks to Anytime Fitness to work out, I feel fairly safe that I’m going to be OK. They have a defibrillator on hand if my heart stops and my wife (the nurse) is usually by my side. It’s easier to give maximum effort when you know there’s medical help nearby.

On Thursday my wife overslept (she had worked the night before) so I was left to do our training session on my own. Of course, it was the hardest session of this Fitness Challenge to date. I can usually measure the toughness of a workout session by the level of sweat on my shirt. On this day there were no dry spots left and I had to find a wall to lean on while recovering.

Written on a wall at Anytime Fitness is a saying that Bryan likes to repeat during our workouts: “You are capable of more than you think.” It was definitely true Thursday and it’s been true throughout the Fitness Challenge.

It’s not that all my problems are going to be fixed at the end of this challenge, but I’m definitely on a better path now than I was a couple months ago.
