Beatrice police arrested a man for allegedly injuring a woman following an altercation.
Travis A. Hamilton, 28, was arrested for third degree domestic assault and was transported to Gage County Detention Center where he was booked and lodged on Friday morning.
Around 9:45 p.m. on Sept. 7, Beatrice police were dispatched to an assault in progress at an apartment on S. 22nd St. in Beatrice.
A woman said that Hamilton began yelling at her about people who were in the apartment. He then followed the woman toward a bedroom where she was gathering her belongings. Police say Hamilton pushed the victim against the wall and stepped on the back of her left leg, leaving an abrasion.
Witnesses said the victim then went into the bedroom where Hamilton pushed her again, causing her to fall onto some items in a closet, causing pain in her ribs.
The two witnesses also said that Hamilton was on top of the victim before one of them pulled him off, at which time he left the apartment.
The woman was transported to Beatrice Community Hospital where she was treated for a sprained ankle and bruising to the left side of her torso before she was released.
Hamilton’s bond was set at $5,000 on Friday and is scheduled to appear again in court on Sept. 26 at 9 a.m.
