Clabaugh Pharmacy and Gift Shop was broken into and burglarized Thursday morning at around 4:30 a.m. causing an immediate alarm to sound.

Given the store's proximity the Beatrice Police Department, officers were able to respond on scene within 15 seconds of being called by the alarm company.

According to Beatrice Police Lieutenant Mike Oliver, the west walk-in door had been broken into and the burglar was apparently after several prescription medications at the pharmacy.

Police would not go into detail about what, if any, medications were taken from the store.

There are no suspects at this time. Beatrice Police Department posted a picture of a silver Hyundai Santa Fe SUV on its Facebook page Thursday afternoon, asking for tips on anyone who might drive such a vehicle because it may have been involved in the burglary.

With it being an ongoing investigation, Clabaugh Pharmacy officials said they could not comment at this time.
