The Beatrice Public Library has been notified that they have received a grant from Humanities Nebraska for a multi-media program called “Riders on the Orphan Train.”
This award-winning official Educational Outreach Program of the National Orphan Train Complex Museum and Research Center in Concordia, Kan. has been touring nationally since 1998. It combines live music by Phillip Lancaster and Alison Moore, with vintage historical photos and interviews of survivors as well as a dramatic reading from the novel "Riders on the Orphan Train."
The program will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 29 at 7 p.m. in the Library’s Norva Price room. This event will be the last of the 2017 Tuesday Night with the Library summer series. For more information, contact the library at 402-223-3584 or online at www.beatrice.ne.gov/library.
