A Beatrice man was arrested on a warrant after allegedly tampering with a witness.
Michael L. Hockman, 34, appeared in Gage County Court where his bond was set at $10,000 with a 10 percent deposit.
On Nov. 3, Beatrice Police officers spoke with a woman who said Hockman had been arrested in June for domestic assault, false imprisonment, child abuse and terroristic threats against her and her kids.
Hockman posted bond in that case, but failed to show up for further court hearings and a warrant was issued, court documents state. He was arrested on that warrant in August and bonded out again in late October.
The next day, he allegedly contacted the victim in Beatrice and told her to print off a paper to file so that she could drop the charges against him. He allegedly told the victim he couldn't do it himself or it would be tampering.
Court documents state the victim did not want to drop the charges.
