Police arrested a man on Sunday following an alleged assault over the weekend.
Spencer J. Keefover, 27, was arrested for second-degree domestic assault, a class 3A felony.
A female victim told authorities that Keefover had been physically abusive when he was upset with her on Saturday.
According to Gage County Court documents, Keefover allegedly held the victim to the ground by her arms and she had to force herself free.
She attempted to lock herself in a room to get away from him, but Keefover allegedly broke a door to get to her and began breaking her things.
He's accused of physically ripping clothes off her, and spray painting the victim's arms and legs before kicking her out of the residence.
She attempted to get back inside to retrieve her possessions by reaching in a door to unlock it, at which time Keefover allegedly began hitting her arm with a rubber hammer.
She screamed for him to stop and believed her arm was broken, but he continued to hit her arm.
Court documents note that several bruises and scratches were visible on the victim, including a bruise that appeared to be a bite mark. Her right arm was swollen where she described being hit by the hammer. Keefover denied getting physical or having any knowledge of the bruises on the victim.
His bond was set at $7,500 with a 10 percent deposit. His next hearing is scheduled for Sept. 5.
