Beverly J. Philippi

Beverly J. (Carrel) Philippi, 78 years of age, of Beatrice passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 28, 2018 at Beatrice Health and Rehabilitation. She was born on Oct. 12, 1939 in Beatrice to William and Lucinda (Newell) Carrel. Beverly attended Beatrice High School before marrying Clair “Tom” Philippi on Jan. 1, 1956. They moved to Germany while Tom was in the military before moving to Lincoln and raising their family. Beverly worked at Dairy Queen, Wonderbread and as a custodian for ISCO Industries for many years. She was a member of the Westside Baptist Church in Beatrice. Beverly enjoyed coloring, hosting family dinners, everything Tom was involved with, her dog Shadow and she had a personality that shined.

Beverly is survived by two daughters, Elizabeth Ann Duffek of Lincoln and Peggy Sue Philippi of Beatrice; her son, Thomas Philippi of Lincoln; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her sister, Shirley Kadlec and husband, Alvin, of Beatrice; her brother, John Carrel and wife, Sue, of Beatrice; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clair “Tom” Philippi on Nov. 28, 2015; her brother, Ron Carrel; and her beloved dog, Shadow.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 5, 2018 at the Westside Baptist Church in Beatrice, with Jon Palmquist officiating. Interment will follow in the Evergreen Home Cemetery in Beatrice. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice.
