Duane Maguire, 82, of Lincoln passed away on Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017. Duane was born to Glen and Gertrude (Buckholz) Maguire on May 15, 1935 in Beatrice. He was a member of North American Martyrs Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and was a past member of the National Guard. Duane worked for Store Kraft Manufacturing for 43 years. He enjoyed woodworking, working on cars and birds. He loved his family dearly.
Duane is survived by his wife of 56 years, Betty; his daughters, Deb Maguire, Rebecca (Blake) Renner and Paulette (Dave) Schmidt, all of Lincoln; his grandchildren, Dylan, Nicholas, Makayla and Dalton; his sister, Irene (Noel) Roberts of Lincoln; as well as his brother, Charles (Frances) Maguire of Beatrice.
He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Haley Schmidt.
Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 13, 2017 at North American Martyrs Catholic Church, located at 1101 Isaac Drive in Lincoln. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 12, 2017 from 5:30-7 p.m., with a rosary beginning at 7 p.m. at Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, located at 5200 R St.
Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Beatrice. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family. Condolences may be left online at www.lincolnccfh.com
