Orlynn E. Weishahn
Orlynn E. Weishahn, 81, of Plymouth died Saturday evening, Nov. 4, 2017 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Lincoln. He was born on July 8, 1936 in rural Jansen in the family home and was baptized on July 24, 1936 at Peace Lutheran Church of rural Plymouth. At the age of five, he moved with his family to Daykin, where he was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church of Daykin on May 29, 1949 and graduated from Daykin High School in 1954. He married Diane Blome on June 12, 1960 at the Zion Lutheran Church of Clatonia and they moved to Plymouth in 1965. He was a member of St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Plymouth where he had served on the school board and was a former church elder. He served in the Nebraska National Guard for six years. He worked at Dempsters and Ratigan-Schottler in Beatrice. He then owned and operated Plymouth Upholstery for seven years before working at Store Kraft in Beatrice for 21 years, retiring in November of 1998.
Survivors include his wife, Diane of Plymouth; one son, Brian (Valajean) Weishahn of Plymouth; one grandson, Cpl. Hayden Weishahn, USMC of MCBH Kaneohe Bay, Hawaii; one granddaughter, Tara Weishahn of Plymouth; one step-grandson, Jerrod Dorn of Firth; one brother, Richard (Marian) Weishahn of Beatrice; as well as his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Elsie Bohlmeyer Weishahn; one daughter, Julie Ann Weishahn; and one sister, Irene Weishahn.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church of Plymouth, with Pastor Frederic Berger officiating. Burial will be at the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery of Plymouth. A family prayer service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at the church. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home of Plymouth on Tuesday from noon until 8 p.m., and then for one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
