Orville H. "Doc" Willet, 85, of Beatrice, formerly of Wymore passed away at the Good Samaritan Center in Beatrice Sunday morning, Oct. 13, 2013. He was born on Oct. 2, 1928, at Firth, to Earl and Lydia (Rohrdanz) Willet.
He was a 1946 graduate of Wymore High School. Doc was employed at Dempster Manufacturing for 43 years and was a member of the International Association of Machinists. Doc enjoyed remodeling and construction projects, completing jigsaw puzzles and going to garage sales.
Survivors include daughter Diane L. Renois and husband Daniel of Porterville, Calif.; son Michael Willet and wife Beth of Wymore; 5 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and sisters Amy Allen of Wymore, Viola Allen and husband Donald "Bud" of Lincoln; and Shirley Neumann and husband Walter of DeWitt.
Doc was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Lydia (Rohrdanz) Willet; brothers Raymond, Edward and Arnold Willet; sisters Irene Earnhart and Ruby Hughes.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, 2013, at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore with Jon Palmquist officiating. Interment will be held at the Wymore Cemetery. The body will lie in state Wednesday from 11 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Laughlin-Hoevet Funeral Home in Wymore with the family greeting friends from 7-8 p.m. A memorial has been established for Alzheimer's Research with the funeral home in charge.
