Richard Taggart of Beatrice died on Sept. 28, 2017 in Michigan after a short illness. Rich called Beatrice home for 26 years. He was born in Royal Oak, Mich. on March 7, 1955.
Rich was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Daniel Taggart; and his sister, Linda Beaudoin. Richard is survived by his sister, Patricia Burke, of Fort Myers, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews who loved their Uncle Richie. He is also survived by his dear friend, Mary Boyum.
Richard was a singer, a guitarist, a golfer and a baseball umpire. He had worked in the plastics industry for many years. They say that great stories happen to those who can tell them, and Rich could tell a terrific story! We like to imagine that he is sitting on a cloud and once again playing guitars and singing Beatles, Eagles, Paul Simon and Jimmy Buffet songs with his brother, Danny.
A celebration of Rich's life will be held at the Rail Bar in Beatrice on Thursday, Oct. 5 at 2 p.m.
