Wade James, 49, of Lincoln and formerly of Wymore, died Feb. 5 at his home.
Wade was born on Feb. 29, 1968 at Auburn, Neb., and was the son of Steve and Martha James. In 1986, he graduated from Wymore Southern High School. He attended and graduated from Southeast Community College and Peru State College.
Wade worked for the city of Lincoln for 21 years. He served in the Finance Department as a system software integrator. He enjoyed watching his nephews, Joe and Kaleb, at their wrestling matches and pestering his nieces, Molly, Alyson and Brooke. Wade also enjoyed golfing and computers, his dog, Max, and game nights with friends.
Survivors include his parents, Steve and Martha James of Wymore; his sisters, Amy (Kevin Parker) James of Marysville and Sally (Ron Spence) Braun of St. George, Kan.; as well as his nieces and nephews, Molly, Joe, Kaleb, Alyson and Brooke.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Ara May Zutterman, and Melvin “Doc” and Jeanette James; his uncle, Joseph A. Zutterman Jr.; and his aunt, Jackie Fulton.
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Feb. 12 at Roper & Sons South Mortuary, located at 40th and Yankee Hill Road in Lincoln. Private burial will be in the Blue Springs Cemetery of Blue Springs. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later.
