A Plymouth woman who ran over her husband last year in Beatrice was sentenced to probation.
Tracy L. Jurgens, 48, was sentenced this week in Gage County Court to serve 18 months of probation for motor vehicle homicide, a class 1 misdemeanor.
She will also do 100 hours of community service as part of the sentence. A second charge of careless driving was previously dismissed.
Jurgens was driving on Oct. 27 when her husband, Alan Jurgens, fell out of the vehicle and was subsequently run over.
Police said that the vehicle was on Beaver Avenue in south Beatrice and was turning onto Sixth Street when Alan Jurgens exited the vehicle.
The vehicle was going around 5 mph when he was run over. Reports indicate that the two had a verbal argument when he fell out of the car.
Beatrice police have previously indicated that while Alan Jurgens left the vehicle of his own accord, the fact that Tracy Jurgens left the scene of an incident that resulted in a fatality was a driving factor in charges being pursued.
