The Nebraska State Patrol (NSP) headquarters troop of Lincoln will conduct a special enforcement this week in an effort to reduce the potential for alcohol-related crashes.
The enforcement will run Sept. 28-29 in Lancaster County, in conjunction with a concert performed by Luke Bryan on a farm west of Lincoln. An estimated 20,000 people are expected to attend the concert, with the possibility of thousands of extra cars on roads around the area.
“This large event will be unique for Lancaster County,” said Captain Lance Rogers of Lincoln. “Troopers will conduct saturation patrols and vehicle checks with the goal of reducing the likelihood of crashes that result in injury or death.”
The enforcement is made possible thanks in part to a grant for $1,100 from the Nebraska Department of Transportation – Highway Safety Office.
