A judicial panel has forwarded the names of four attorneys to Gov. Pete Ricketts for consideration to fill the seat of resigned Nebraska Supreme Court Justice Max Kelch.
They are: Christine Costantakos, Jonathan Papik and John Svoboda of Omaha; and Cathy Trent-Vilim of La Vista.
Costantakos has been in private practice in Omaha since 1978, with a primary focus on juvenile court law for the last 20 years.
Papik is a partner at Cline Williams Wright Johnson & Oldfather and has worked there since 2010.
Svoboda is a shareholder at Gross & Welch P.C., where he's worked since 1994 with an emphasis on personal injury, product liability, insurance, wrongful death, probation and trust litigation.
Trent-Vilim is a partner at Lamson, Dugan & Murray LLP, where she's worked since 2008.
The judgeship covers the 4th Judicial District, which consists of portions of Douglas and Sarpy counties. The governor will appoint one person to fill the seat.
In a news release last month, the Supreme Court released word of Kelch's resignation, effective Feb. 14. He had been on the court two years.
