The Southeast Community College baseball team has won four games in a row and are now 19-10 on the season.
Their most recent win was a 12-1 triumph over Highland Community college on Tuesday at Christensen Field in Beatrice.
Nine of those 12 runs came in the third inning. SCC had 11 hits in the game, including a home run and three RBI's from Justin Lott.
Ben Palensky had three hits and two RBI's while Nolan Meyer had three hits and two runs scored. Masen Prososki had a hit, two runs scored and an RBI.
Joseph Vargas was the winning pitcher. He pitched five innings, giving up one earned run on two hits while striking out five and walking three.
Jonny Reyes and Zach Pinkerton pitched a scoreless inning each in relief.
Prior to that, SCC swept a four game home series from Lake Region State.
SCC scored two runs in the bottom of the seventh to win the first game 7-6.
They had eight hits in the game, including a home run and three RBI's from Chris Cornish. Nolan Meyer had two hits while Ben Palensky, Wyatt Meyer and Masen Prososki had an RBI each.
Trey Kissack, Gavin Gragg, Trevor Jurevich and Jonny Reyes combined to pitch the game. Reyes pitched the seventh inning and picked up the win.
SCC followed that up with an 11-1 win over Lake Region State. Grant Van Scoy and Ryan Cornell both homered and had two RBI's in the game. Justin Lott, Ben Palensky, Nolan Meyer and Alec Lee had two RBI's each.
Nate Lorenzen pitched all five innings to get the win. He gave up one earned run on four hits while striking out six and walking one.
In the final game of the series. SCC won 14-4 in eight innings. Palensky and Meyer both homered in the game. Meyer had three RBI's while Cornell, Lott, Cornish and Alec Lee had two RBI's each.
Kayleb Sanderson picked up the win, pitching five innings and giving up four runs (three earned) on eight hits while striking out nine and walking one. Ruben Ramirez pitched two scoreless innings and Gavin Gragg pitched one scoreless inning, striking out the side.
The Storm was schedule to play at home on Thursday against Midland JV, but those games were postponed. They will travel to Highland on Tuesday before a four game series at Hesston next weekend.
SCC will be home again on April 12 when they host a doubleheader with Doane JV. They will then host three games with Southeastern on April 14 and 15.
