SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (AP) -- Edmundo Sosa homered and doubled, scoring two runs as the Springfield Cardinals topped the Frisco RoughRiders 6-1 on Monday.

Darren Seferina homered and doubled with four RBIs for Springfield.

With the game tied 1-1, the Cardinals took the lead for good with three runs in the second inning. Seferina hit a two-run home run and Sosa hit a solo home run en route to the three-run lead.

Springfield right-hander Jake Woodford (1-1) picked up the win after allowing one run on four hits over five innings. Opposing starter Richelson Pena (1-1) took the loss in the Texas League game after a rough outing in which he allowed six runs and four hits over 4 1/3 innings.
