The Southeast Community College baseball team opened their season with trips to Oklahoma and won six out of eight games.

They split four games with Northern Oklahoma in Enid, Okla. on Feb. 10 and 11.

They won the first game 4-3. Joseph Vargas picked up the win in relief, pitching three innings and giving up no runs on no hits while striking out one and walking three. BJ Sparks picked up the save.

Ben Palensky had a double, a home run and two RBI's in the game.

SCC dropped the second game of the doubleheader 5-4. Trey Kissack took the loss on the mound. Ryan Cornell had a double and a triple in the game while Palensky had two hits and three RBI's.

In the third game of the series, the Storm won 16-10. Grant Van Scoy, Chris Cornish and Nolan Meyer all had home runs in the game while Ben Palensky had a double. Kayleb Sanderson got the win for the Storm.

In the series finale, Northern Oklahoma scored a run in the bottom of the ninth to win 4-3. Van Scoy had a double and two RBI's while Ryan Cornell also had two RBI's for SCC.

This past weekend, the Storm traveled to Tonkawa, Okla. and swept four games from Northern Oklahoma Tonkawa.

They won the first game 11-7. Ryan Cornell had a triple and three RBI's while Nathan Schrum had a home run and two RBI's. Ben Palensky had a double and two RBIs.

Gavin Gragg picked up the win, pitching four innings in relief and giving up no runs on no hits while striking out two and walking one.

SCC won the second game 8-6. Chris Cornish had two RBI's in the game and Trey Kissack picked up the win, pitching four innings and giving up one run on four hits while striking out seven and walking six.

In the third game of the series, SCC won 7-6. Wyatt Meyer homered while Grant Van Scoy and Chris Cornish each had a double. Masen Prosoki had two hits and two RBI's. Ruben Ramirez picked up the win, pitching four innings in relief and giving up no runs on two hits while striking out three and walking two.

In the series finale, SCC won 7-4. Van Scoy homered and had two RBI's while Wyatt Meyer also had two RBI's.

Matt Perry picked up the win, pitching four innings and giving up four runs on five hits while striking out four and walking three.

SCC (6-2) will be in action again this weekend when they travel to El Dorado, Kan. for a three game series with Butler.
