CRETE -- Diller-Odell had no answer for Class C2 No. 4 ranked Elmwood-Murdock in the C2-1 District Championship game Monday night.

The Griffins fell behind 8-0 early and never recovered in a 56-28 loss at Doane College.

Elmwood-Murdock led 12-4 after the first quarter and extended that lead to 29-7 at half time. From there, they would coast to the win.

Peyton Mohr led the way for Diller-Odell with seven points while Dylan Wolbert had six points, Reese Hennerberg and Bryston Warren had five points each, Jesse Scheele and Ryan Arnold had two points each and William McLaughlin had one point.

Wes Dreamer led Elmwood-Murdock with 16 points while Zach Rust had 12 points.

Diller-Odell struggled offensively all night. They were 8 for 33 from the field and 2 for 12 from three point range. They got outrebounded 31-19. Elmwood-Murdock scored 20 points off turnovers compared to Diller-Odell's five points off turnovers.

Diller-Odell's season comes to an end after posting a 10-15 record. Elmwood-Murdock advance to the state tournament, which is scheduled for March 9-11.
