The Southeast Community College softball team dropped a pair of home games to North Platte Community College on Sunday.

They lost the first game 6-3 and then lost the second game 7-6 in eight innings.

Ellie Edmond took the loss in the first game, pitching all seven innings and giving up six runs (one earned) on 11 hits while striking out three and walking one.

Sarah Haake had a home run and all three RBI's for SCC while Amber Scherer had two doubles.

In the extra inning loss, Edmond pitched three innings and gave up one run on five hits while striking out one. Jessica Lusk pitched five innings and gave up six runs (two earned) on eight hits while striking out four and walking three.

Jessica Lusk and Courtney Stephens both homered. Stephens had three RBI's. Amber Scherer had a double and Aryssa Borrenpohl had two hits.

Prior to those games, SCC swept a double header with McCook Community College last Thursday. They won the first game 8-5 and the second game 9-8.

Edmond pitched all seven innings of the first game and picked up the win, giving up five runs (three earned) on four hits while striking out four.

Savannah Grabowski and Amber Scherer both homered in the game while Jessica Lusk had two doubles. Scherer had four RBI's. Aryssa Borrenpohl had two hits and scored three runs.

In the 9-8 win, Edmond pitched five innings and gave up five runs (four earned) on eight hits while striking out three. Logan Runge pitched an inning and gave up three runs. Jessica Lusk got the save with a perfect seventh inning.

Grabowski, Lusk and Brooke Simonton all homered in the game. Simonton had four RBI's while Lusk and Mikayla Winter had two RBI's each.

The Lady Storm is now 8-15 on the season. They travel to Norfolk on Thursday to play Northeast before coming home this weekend to play four games against Central.

Both Saturday and Sunday's games against Central are scheduled for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. at Hannibal Park in Beatrice.
