Beatrice's Brenden Simpson has decided to continue his football career at Midland University next year. Simpson plans to be a defensive end in college. During his senior year, he had 42 total tackles, four solo and 35 assisted. He also had three sacks on the season.

What were your reasons for choosing Midland? I really love the campus, and the coaching staff is amazing. I truly feel a sense of belonging there.

What other schools did you consider? Doane, Hastings, Dakota Wesleyan

How long have you desired to play college football? I have had a dream to play college football my whole life

What position do you plan to play in college? I plan on playing defensive end.

What did you enjoy about the recruiting process? It was fun meeting the coaches, and players. Sampling college food was great.

What are the strengths you’ll bring to the college game? I have a strong sense of leadership, a great work ethic, and extreme passion for the game

What do you think will be the biggest challenges? The biggest challenge will most definitely be the transition from high school to college.

What are you looking forward to most in college athletics? I am looking forward to meeting new people, and developing long lasting friendships
