The Marysville and Hanover football teams have both advanced to the sectional round of the Kansas State Football Playoffs.
Marysville is 10-1 on the season and will host Cheney High School (9-2) Saturday at 4 p.m. with the winner advancing to Sub-State, which is the semifinals in Kansas.
The Bulldogs started there quest with a 62-21 win over Norton Community High School in the Bi-District round. They then beat Larned High School 36-28 last Saturday in the Regional round.
With a win this Saturday, Marysville would play the winner of Hesston (8-3) and Phillipsburg (11-0).
In the other two quarterfinals games, Silver Lake (11-0) plays Galena (11-0) and Sabetha (10-1) plays Osage City (9-2).
If Marysville were to win their next two games, they would play for the state championship on Nov. 25.
Marysville's lone loss came on Sept. 22 when they lost to Concordia 22-16.
Hanover (10-0) will play in the eight-man Division II Sectional game on Friday at 5:30 p.m. at Caldwell High School (9-1).
With a win, Hanover would move into the Sub-State semifinal round on Nov. 17 where they will play the winner of Hutchinson-Central Christian (10-0) and Scandia-Pike Valley (10-0).
Hanover reached the sectional round by winning a Regional game over Mankato-Rock Hills last Friday 62-32.
If Hanover would reach the championship game, it would be held on Nov. 25
