PAWNEE CITY — Pawnee City graduate Lizzy Miller has accepted a scholarship from Hastings College, committing to play softball for the Lady Broncos starting with the 2011-12 school year.

“I love the campus and all of the teachers honestly care.”
What other schools did you consider seriously?
“Northwest Missouri State University.”
How long have you known you wanted to play college softball?
“I have always wanted to play softball in college.”
Did you enjoy the recruiting process?
“Yes, everyone was nice and honest with me.”
What are the strengths you will bring to the college game?
“I think that my strengths will be that I am a hard worker and I am willing to try new things. This means that I will be willing to do whatever it takes to succeed.”
What will be the biggest challenges?
“It will be a whole new experience, being on my own and away from my parents. I think that the biggest challenge will be having to manage my money. I think that besides that, I will adjust well.”
What position do you plan to play in college?
“I was recruited as a pitcher.”
What are you looking forward to most in collegiate athletics?
“I am excited for the experience, but the one part that I am looking forward to most is the team experience. I have been on a lot of teams, but never one that will have the same love for softball that I do.”
