OMAHA -- The Beatrice boys tennis team picked up a convincing win over Omaha Roncalli on Thursday.
The Orangemen defeated the relatively inexperienced Crimson Pride team 8-1.
All four doubles teams picked up wins for Beatrice including an 8-2 win for the No. 1 team of Dillon Damme and Sam Steffen and an 8-6 win for the No. 2 team of Joe Wright and Evan Sueper.
The No. 3 team of Cole Crandall and Colt Ditbrenner won 8-1 while the No. 4 team of Zack Zimmerman and Alex Fleischer won 6-0.
In singles competition, Damme won his No. 1 match 8-2 while Steffen posted the team's only 8-0 sweep in No. 2 singles.
Sueper battled for a win in a 7-5 tiebreaker in No. 3 singles. Crandall picked up an 8-3 win in No. 5 singles and Dittbrenner won 8-1 in No. 6 singles.
"In today's matches, the boys were able to work on several things we have been implementing in practice," said Beatrice coach Karen Dittbrenner. "Hopefully this will give them some confidence as we head into the second half of our season."
Next up for the Orangemen will be the Lincoln East Invite on Monday.
