GRAND ISLAND -- Beatrice's volleyball's winning streak came to an end Tuesday night in Grand Island.

The Lady O had won eight of their last nine matches and climbed to No. 10 in the Class B ranking in the Lincoln Journal Star, but they dropped two games of a triangular to Hastings and Northwest.

They lost to Hastings in three sets 20-25, 25-22, 25-19. The Lady O had a balanced offensive attack against the Tigers. They got seven kills from Devyn Burroughs, six kills from Ally Thavenet and four kills from Kacie Heidbrink.

Jessica Fujan added three kills while Mackenzie Osborne had two kills and Monica Fujan had one kill. Osborne also had 22 assists.

Haley Sexton had five ace serves while Osborne had two ace serves and Burroughs had one ace serve.

Defensively, Sexton had 16 blocks while Thavenet and Osborne had 14 digs each.

In the second match, Beatrice lost to Class B No. 3 Northwest in two sets 26-24, 25-14.

Thavenet led the way for the Lady O offense with nine kills while Burroughs had seven kills, Heidbrink had four kills, Jessica Fujan and Mariah Allen had two kills each and Monica Fujan had one kill. Osborne had 20 assists.

Beatrice got a block each from Monica Fujan, Jessica Fujan and Heidbrink. Sexton had 19 digs. 

The Lady O is now 12-8 on the season and will be in action again Thursday night when they host Omaha Gross. It will be a "Pink Out" night for breast cancer awareness, so fans are encouraged to wear pink to the match.
