Beatrice senior Mikayla Bletscher recently signed her letter of intent to play softball at Cloud County Community College. During her senor season, she hit .304 with two home runs, 15 runs scored and 19 RBI's. She played outfield for the Lady O.

What were your reasons for choosing Cloud County? Concordia is not far from home and I love that my parents, grandparents and aunt will be able to make it to games. I met a few girls currently on the team that made me feel welcome.

How long have you desired to play college softball? I have played softball since I was 8 years old. I knew a long time ago that I would not be ready to give it up once I graduated.

What position do you plan to play in college? I will likely play outfield, but I have infield experience, so I will be happy to go where Coach Acree needs me.

What did you enjoy about the recruiting process? Coach Acree made me feel so welcome and I had such a great feeling after meeting him. I knew that Cloud would be a great fit both athletically and academically.

What are the strengths you’ll bring to the college game? I am looking forward to adding additional speed and hitting power to the team.

What do you think will be the biggest challenges? The biggest challenge may be keeping up with my academics while traveling during the games.

What are you looking forward to most in college athletics? I am looking forward to making new friendships and being able to continue playing a sport. I love all while continuing my education.
