The Beatrice Public Library is sponsoring the return of the popular performer Jerry Barlow, a noted Celtic fingerstyle guitarist, on Tuesday, March 12 at 7 p.m. in the Price Room. The program is the first feature of the Beatrice Public Library Foundation Concert Series, a new activity for 2019. Other future performers will be a lutist and a Japanese guitarist/composer.

Jerry Barlow is an accessible performer who includes stories and anecdotes in his presentations. His repertoire consists of familiar music with Jerry providing interesting accounts of the back-stories. “In concert, Jerry brings traditional Celtic tunes alive by sharing the history, humor and legends behind the music. He is a performer who is skilled, funny and riveting. The vast majority of musicians performing today are skilled in either performing on their instrument or entertaining an audience. It is rare and extremely enjoyable to see a musician at the very top of his craft in both areas,” states Scott Beach, Director of Colorado Celtic Entertainment.

Jerry Barlow’s 2011 recording "Fields and Fences" was one of five nominees for Instrumental Album of the Year by the Independent Music Award. The Indie Acoustic Project selected the title song from his recording "Bring dDown the Storm" as one of the best songs of 2006.”Music from all of Barlow’s recordings can be heard regularly on National Public Radio.
