Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018 at the American Lutheran Church of Filley, with Pastor LuRae Hallstrom officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery of rural Pickrell. A memorial has been established to the Fuller Park Ball Field of rural Pickrell. The body will lie in state at the church for one hour preceding the services on Saturday.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, Jan. 13, 2018 at 1 p.m. at the Centenary United Methodist Church of Beatrice, with the Rev. Mark Schutt and Chaplain Sharon Schuster officiating. A family prayer service will be held at 12:45 p.m. in the library of the church on Saturday. A guestbook for signatures will be available at the church for one hour preceding the services on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in her name to Beatrice Community Players.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 15, 2018 at Shepherd of the Hills Church in Hickman, with Pastor Ron Drury officiating. Interment with military rites by the United States Air Force will follow in the Spring Creek Cemetery east of Tecumseh. Visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. with family greeting friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 14, 2018 at Harman-Wright Mortuary in Beatrice. Memorials are suggested to the family's choice, in care of the mortuary.

A celebration of life and open house will be held on Sunday, Feb. 11, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Parker's Smokehouse in Ashland. Memorials can be directed to the Ashland Fire and Rescue.
Eldora E. Germer
Eldora E. Germer, 84 years of age, of Beatrice and formerly of Plymouth passed away at Southlake Village in Lincoln on Monday evening, Jan. 1, 2018. She was born on June 3, 1933 in Louisville, Neb. to Alvin and Matilda (Flessner) Jung, and was a 1951 graduate of Fairbury High School. Eldora and Gerald "Jerry" Germer were married on April 29, 1951 in Jansen, Neb. She had farmed with Jerry for many years (doing the book-keeping), income tax preparation for H&R Block and had been employed in the office at American Tool Company in DeWitt. They lived in the Beatrice and Plymouth areas, and Eldora moved to Samaritan Springs four years ago. Eldora was a member of the Peace United Methodist Church in Plymouth. She enjoyed square dancing, attending her grandchildren's activities and traveling with Jerry. She was a seamstress and created cross stitch and other crafts.
Survivors include her children, Lorie (Dennis) Headrick of Lincoln, Carol (Terry) Williams of Omaha and Sam (Tish) Germer of Ogden, Iowa; her grandchildren, Jana (Mike) Dux of Holly Springs, N.C., Kristin (Ryan) Cable of Leawood, Kan., Brandon (Gwen) Dahl of Omaha, Michaela Dahl of Lincoln, Caitlin (Nick) Beedle of Adair, Iowa, Chelsea Germer of Atlantic, Iowa and Avery Germer of Ames, Iowa; her great-grandchildren, Ethne and Caris Dux, Graham Cable and Brynnley and Mia Dahl; as well as her sisters, Louise Meyer and Linda Preisendorf, both of Greely, Colo. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald "Jerry" Germer (2008); and her brothers, Wayne and Robert Jung.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018 at the Peace United Methodist Church in Plymouth, with the Rev. Ed Milliken officiating. Public visitation will be held from noon to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Griffiths-Hovendick Chapel in Beatrice, with the family greeting friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Cremation has taken place, and burial of her ashes will be at a later date. A family prayer service will be held at 10:45 a.m. on Saturday at the church. A memorial has been established to the family's choice, with the funeral home in charge. Patricia A. Bowman
Patricia Ann Bowman, age 98 years, 8 months and 13 days, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017, at Heritage Care Center in Fairbury. Pat was born to Ray and Lena (Doty) at home in Belvidere on April 17, 1919. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lorin; and her brother, Guy Bailey. She is survived by her children, Lana (Dan) Wilken of Beatrice, Jackie Bowman of Aurora and Larry Bowman of Bruning; her grandchildren, Angela (Brian) Fossler of Beatrice, Melissa Carper of Pickrell, Lenny (Carla) Bowman of Bruning, Dan Bowman of Scottsdale, Ariz. and Tony Bowman of Austin, Texas; her great-grandchildren, Jadyn and Liam Bowman of Bruning; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service for Patricia will be held on Thursday, Jan. 4, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Bruning, Neb., with Pastor Stuart Sell officiating.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, Jan. 3, 2018 from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva.
Graveside services will be conducted at the Bruning Public Cemetery following the funeral service.
Memorials are to be directed to the family for a later designation.
