Pounds lost this week: 0.5

Total pounds lost: 10.5

almost to the halfway mark of the challenge and things are starting to click on all aspects.  The workouts have always been the easiest, but retraining my mind to think about what I am eating, when I am eating, taking workouts as focusing on something each day instead of doing everything all in one session has been the long haul.  I now find myself realizing when I am grabbing for something just to much on and making sure that what is around me is healthier to just grab.  Which, I know is helping because the past weekend was a crazy weekend which resulted in a lot of eating out and high calorie/high carb meals, but even with that the scale still went down, which was great to see that everything else helped balance out the bad days.  Even though it wasn’t a big drop it was still a drop.

Nutrition has still been the main focus of the week.  That is where my  brain had to be retrained the hardest and slowly making sure that the not quite so healthy stuff isn’t in arm’s reach when I get hungry.  Now, instead of grabbing the salty and high calorie/high carb snacks I grab the veggies and a small dip.  Water has been my main drink during this time, but when I need something with more flavor I have found some really great flavored zero drinks that will allow the sweeter flavor, but none of the macros I need to avoid.  I am definitely more conscious of what I reach to grab, what I cook and what I buy for groceries, which means that trips to the store are getting longer because I find myself checking different aspects, especially the sodium.

This week the workouts are definitely a push.  I joke that I shouldn’t have told Bryan that I was running more on my workouts by myself than with him because we made a big jump there.  My legs are feeling it a little bit at the end of this week, which is good because it means that we are pushing myself past the comfort levels and making progress.  Bryan still remains a great coach that is there to push me past my limits, but still making sure that we aren’t pushing too far and that everything has been good with my body and not hurting or having any pain.  Taking the workouts we have been doing and changing them up a little bit has kept the workouts fun this week and showing me where I can take the same thing and change it up just slightly to work different aspects of the muscles.
