Week 4: Gage McCarthy

Week 4: Gage McCarthy

Pounds lost this week: 5

Total pounds lost: 13

This week went fast, I lost one pound last week, Bryan said "don't get discouraged".

I tried some new foods this week, the first being hummus, I got the supremely spicy one it was "ok" not sure I would get again.

My dad got a recipe for kale soup, we made it on Monday, it was really very good, I plan to have that again. When I went to put in my fitness pal discovered there are lots of recipes for kale soup, at least 10. I got some protein bars, been having one at night, I have a terrible habit of late night snacking, the bars seem to be helping, or maybe my willpower is improving)( I wish.

Changing my eating habits has been the most difficult thing so far, Bryan made the suggestion that I eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I have had the habit for a long time of drinking pop and water all day and then eating from dinner until around 10 or 11 at night.

I have been doing really well on my pop consumption, only had one this week, when I went to the movie. Eating breakfast, lunch, and dinner still needs work.

Workouts are fun with Bryan, we upped the weight on some and today (Feb.  6) we did a new one with what I will call a balance ball. It was the most difficult so far, when my legs started shaking I had to get off so I would not fall. I will continue working on becoming much more proficient with that one. Bryan is good at encouraging me that I can do it when I am feeling like perhaps not, I do work up a sweat.

I did make it to the gym on all the days I had planned this week, that felt good, sometimes life has a to get in the way of my best laid plans.

I am so glad that I have so many friends and family that have joined, this gives me the motivation to go... I meet my dad and friend Dan at 8 pm Tuesday through Friday. One day my brother Joe and I went and worked out we did weights that day, I am happy to report I can still out do him, we had a great time.

I am determined to meet my goals for weight loss, and eating healthier. The exercise has been great, not easy, but the challenge helps keep me motivated.

Again I hope when I weigh tomorrow (Feb. 7) that I have lost some weight.
