defiant toy drive

"Frosty the Snowman” and a member of Lords of Ventus riding group assist with the Defiant Few Motorcyle Club’s toy drive in Fairbury on Friday, Nov. 16. The club is collecting toys in Beatrice and Fairbury to give away to families in need this Christmas.

The Defiant Few Motorcycle Club is ready to spread holiday cheer to boys and girls in Jefferson and Gage counties.

For the past month the club has been collecting toys in Beatrice and Fairbury. The group has one more toy drive scheduled, Saturday, Dec. 15 at the Walmarts in Fairbury and Beatrice.

Only new toys are accepted and they should be unwrapped. The club also accepts cash donations. All money goes directly to purchase additional toys. There is also a toy drop-off box located at the Sonic Drive-In in Beatrice.

Toys will be given out to families in need on Friday, Dec. 21 from 5-9 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 22, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. For families in Fairbury and Jefferson County, toys can be picked up at the community building in the park (otherwise known as the Girl Scout building).

For families in Beatrice and Gage County, toys can be picked up through the south doors at the American Legion, 701 Dorsey St.

Only parents and guardians can pick up toys and the Defiant Few asks that each family only take what they need for their family.
