The Beatrice Regional Orchestra delivered a stellar performance Tuesday evening with a concert themed around stars and planets.

The orchestra brought a collection of music from the movies Apollo 13 and the Star Wars series, as well as portions of the classical music suite "The Planets," to entertain the gathered audience at the Hevelone Center.

Two stars featured on stage were Connor Husa and Ethan Millington, the winners of the orchestra's annual Senior Soloist Competition. The seniors each came to the forefront for solo performances, accompanied by the orchestra.

Husa is involved in the music and choir programs at Beatrice High School and is an all-state musician. He plays multiple instruments, including bassoon for the Regional Orchestra, but sang an operatic piece for his solo.

Millington is an all-state musician from Norris High School, who has been selected to play in a national honor band. He plays tuba for the Regional Orchestra.
