A Beatrice man was arrested for possession of a stolen firearm.
On Tuesday evening Beatrice police were investigating a firearm that was previously reported stolen.
The victim received information that 19-year-old Drayke E. Stege, had the firearm, a Kimber Micro .380 handgun.
Stege was contacted at his residence and initially denied knowledge of the gun, but later led the officer into his residence and retrieved the gun from his bedroom.
A witness at the residence reported first seeing the gun one week earlier and said Stege claimed to have purchased the gun.
Stege was interviewed by police and claimed he received the firearm from a person he declined to give the name of and said he planned to return the gun to the victim.
He denied breaking into the victim's residence and stealing the gun. He later shared knowledge of the residence the firearm was taken from and was arrested for burglary and possession of a stolen firearm, both felonies.
Stege’s bond was set $7,500 with a 10 percent deposit. His next hearing is set for Nov. 20.
