Beatrice police and State Patrol troopers investigate a crash after a motorcycle collided with a car Wednesday evening. A Beatrice man was transported to a Lincoln hospital following the crash.

A Beatrice man was sent to a Lincoln Hospital Wednesday for serious injuries following a motorcycle crash in east Beatrice.

Dennis Lyons, 42, was driving a Harley Davidson motorcycle west on Court Street Wednesday evening. According to an accident report, A Buick Regal driven by 20-year-old Aaron Blythe, of Beatrice was northbound on 12th Street.

Blythe allegedly stopped at the intersection for two cars, then proceeded through the intersection, not seeing the motorcycle.

The motorcycle hit the car, causing the Harley Davidson to skid.

Lyons was transported to Bryan Health West in Lincoln for his injures, including several broken bones. Blythe, who was cited for failing to yield, and a passenger were examined at the scene and released. Witnesses said Lyons was wearing a helmet and a State Patrol accident reconstruction expert was on the scene.
