Jean Elizabeth Roesler, 97, of Lincoln formerly Plymouth passed away in a Lincoln hospital on November 13, 2019. She was born on May 25, 1922 at Humberstone, Ontario, Canada. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Humberstone, Ontario, Canada, spent her childhood in Canada and worked in a shoe factory for three years. She was married to Arnold Roesler August 23rd, 1944. They lived in Western until 1952 when they purchased the Plymouth Locker and moved to Plymouth. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Plymouth where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Ladies Aid of the church. She enjoyed quilting, embroidery work, cooking, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include one son, John (Rochelle) Roesler of Oakland, CA, two daughters Linda Schopp and Patricia Roesler of Lincoln; eight grandchildren, Todd (Kristi) Schopp, Lori (Kevin) Wittler, Marshall (Jamie) Roesler , Aaron (Jamie) Roesler, Jake (Natalie) Roesler, Anthony (Danielle) Roesler, William Roesler, Benjamin Roesler; nine great-grandchildren, Kaden and Tannah Schopp, Justin (Rachel) Wittler, J'Nan Wittler, Joseph, Joshua, Heustyn, Mercedes and Wyatt Roesler; nephew, David MacKay; niece, Colleen (Ron) Parton; 51 nephews and nieces on the Roesler family side. Special care giver, Jeni DeMara. She was preceded in death by her parents Gustav and Lydia Wolfe Fiedler; her sister Doris MacKay; her husband, Arnold who died on January 8, 2000 and her son, Jerry who died on January 11th, 2000.
Funeral services will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Plymouth on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at 1:30 P.M with Pastor Fred Berger officiating. A family prayer service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Sunday at the church. Burial will be in the St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery, Plymouth. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the family for future designation. The body will lie in state at the Fox Funeral Home, Plymouth on Friday from 12:00 noon to 8:00 P.M., Saturday from 1:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. and at the church one hour preceding the services on Sunday.
