Beatrice High School's Leadership Class of 2018 recently completed their community service project.

The class chose to make improvements to the Big Blue Dog Park to make it a more functional place for pets and their owners.

Those improvements include a water fountain for both humans and dogs, a new park sign and two concrete pads sponsored by Lineweber Dirtworks LLC with park benches purchased by Neapco.

There are also two leash trees built by Neapco and powder-coated by Exmark. Five new trees sponsored by Black HIlls Energy were planted.

The group received grant funds from Norris Operation Roundup and Beatrice Plus and assistance from the City/Public Properties Department for assistance with their project.
