Two people were arrested after law enforcement served a search warrant in Beatrice Friday afternoon.
Just before 5 p.m. the Gage County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Nebraska State Patrol and Beatrice Police Department, executed a search warrant at 233 S. Lasalle St. in Beatrice.
According to a press release from the sheriff’s office, the search warrant was part of an ongoing investigation involving methamphetamine distribution occurring in Gage County. Upon entry into the residence, deputies located Jesse Henry, 40, of Beatrice and Kristie Ray, 44, of Beatrice and another female and young child.
Henry and Ray were observed coming from the basement when deputies entered the residence and deputies later located a broken, glass pipe that appeared to have been smashed and scattered about the basement floor.
Residue from the pipe pre-tested positive for methamphetamine, the press release stated. Also in the basement, deputies located four other pills that require a prescription to possess and four marijuana pipes.
Both Henry and Ray were lodged in jail for possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Ray was also arrested for child abuse, possession of marijuana and possession of a legend drug.
