Lincoln man killed in Iowa crash


A Lincoln man was killed Thursday night in a crash in Iowa.

According to a crash report from the Iowa State Patrol, 41-year-old Justin Meyering of Lincoln was fleeing from a law enforcement officer at a high rate of speed at about 11:30 p.m. when he failed to negotiate a curve on a road in Hamilton County in the north-central part of the state. Meyerling's 2003 Ford Mustang rolled.

According to the crash report, Meyerling was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a seat belt.

The crash report did not say why Meyerling was being pursued.
