Gage County deputies arrested a man for allegedly failing to properly register as a sex offender.
Jared A. Eppens was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender, a class 3A felony.
Gage County Court documents state that Eppens is required to comply with the Nebraska Sex Offender Registration Act, due to a conviction of the District Court of Pueblo County, Colo. for attempted sexual assault of a child.
The victim in the case was a 14-year-old female.
Eppens moved to Nebraska in 2016 and was notified of the requirements to register. He was designated a lifetime registrant by the Nebraska State Patrol.
Court documents state he registered with the Gage County Sheriff's Office on Oct. 12, but failed to verify information in the following 30 days, as required.
Eppens' next hearing is set for Dec. 5.
