A Lincoln man was arrested in Beatrice after allegedly stealing scrap metal from a Beatrice trucking company.
Patrick A. Sardeson, 60, was arrested for theft and theft by receiving stolen property on Tuesday.
Early Monday morning, police responded to Harms Trucking following reports from employees who saw a truck back into their lot that allegedly stole metal.
In the lot was a 16-foot trailer with $1,000-$5,000 worth of scrap metal on it.
The trailer was later located across the street, where police contacted Sardeson, the driver of the pickup.

Court documents state he was muddy and wet and had a flashlight and saw with him at the time of contact.
He was placed under arrest for fifth offense theft at that time.
The trailer was registered to Falcon Heating and Air in Lincoln. The business was later contacted and police were told Sardeson was not an employee and shouldn't have had one of their trailers. The trailer had an estimated value of $2,000.
Bond was set at $10,000. Sardeson's next hearing is Sept. 25.
